If you don't want to spay your female cat or let her breed while in heat, feed her an estrus-suppressing powder or a cat food that curbs heat before she comes into season. Prolonged heat is hard on a cat's health, and unspayed females face a higher risk of reproductive diseases such as pyometra and vaginitis.
