II. Symptoms: Large numbers in the gut can block the intestine and cause inflammation, with vomiting as the key sign – worm bodies may appear in vomit, especially in puppies. Other signs: poor appetite, poor growth, lethargy. If you see these, take the dog to a vet to identify the parasite and deworm. Note: if Toxocara is present, handle feces carefully, isolate the dog, and avoid spreading to people or pets.
III. Treatment: Use a professional dewormer (e.g., a gram-negative-specific product works well with no side effects).
IV. Schedule: Follow a regular deworming cycle – first at one month, monthly until six months, then every three months; parasite life cycles are 2-3 months, so deworm within that window.
