Signs Your Cat Fully Trusts You

1 Overview

Showing the belly

As we know, the belly is a cat’s vulnerable spot; only in a safe, comfortable environment will a cat expose it. If your cat rolls over and shows its belly when you get home, congratulations — it deeply trusts you.

But some kittens, when you touch the belly they just showed you, may bite.

Sleeping by your side

Cats sleep most of the day and are less alert then, so they pick safe spots. If your cat sleeps next to you, or curls up on your lap, it truly trusts you.

Loafing (tucked paws)

Tucking paws means it can’t react fast to danger, so cats only loaf around people and places they trust.

Licking you

Cat family members groom each other to mark scent and bond. If your cat licks your skin or hair, it treats you as family.

Bringing you things

Some cats go ‘hunting’ and bring ‘prey’ back — birds, snakes, fish, or gloves, socks, leaves (their favorite toys).
