Diarrhea has many causes; find the cause before treating. Parasite infection needs a fecal test and targeted dewormer. Diarrhea needs a clear cause for targeted care. At noon today I used abamectin for my cat’s topical deworming, applying two drops on the back of the neck. The cat then lay down; I wiped it with a wet tissue and it regained some energy, but slept most of the afternoon and has barely eaten since.
Abamectin is quite irritating and can cause reactions in cats. Give water to boost metabolism and watch 1-2 days. If vomiting, drooling, or seizures appear, it may be overdose or ingestion poisoning needing vet care. Use an E-collar and discard packaging.
