Symptoms of Hypertrophic Heart Disease in Cats
Feline HCM is common in breeds like Burmese and Ragdolls. Early signs are subtle โ breathing trouble, low appetite, tiredness โ while late signs include heart failure, blood clots, and sudden death. Learn what to watch for.
After arriving home it had diarrhea and a red, swollen anus; after the anus healed, no fur grew on the tail. Feels like ringworm but no dandruff. Photo 1 is the early diarrhea, photo 2 is now.
The tail hair loss doesn't look like ringworm; it's likely severe diarrhea caused wound inflammation and infection, then follicle damage after scabbing, so fur won't grow. Follicle repair takes time; give lecithin and vitamins. Severe follicle damage may be permanent.
Is My Nearly 2-Month-Old Golden Shaded Male Kitten’s Nose Ringworm or Genetic? (Photo)
The nose shows suspected flakes and scabsโlikely a skin issue, ringworm possible. A Wood's lamp showing green fluorescence means ringworm; then use an E-collar and antifungals, or see a vet if it isn't.
One-year-old male cat, large-cell lymphoma treatment plan
Diagnosing lymphoma needs full imaging and lab tests; once confirmed, surgery and chemo control progression and extend life, though incurable. Untreated, death may come within two months.
At first a small bump at the ear base, I applied iodine, the rabbit kept scratching it, broke the skin, then scabbed; later a lot of fur fell off there, gave balance powder for days with no regrowth, looked dry but no dandruff; a few days ago found dandruff on the neck, after using a skin tonic the bald ear spot started getting dandruff too, worse than the photo. (Green circle is the neck dandruff spot.)
Hello, from the photo you uploaded, the rabbit's symptoms are very likely caused by a fungal infection. For this situation, shave the fur at the affected area clean, then clean and disinfect the site with iodine; after cleaning, use an antifungal medication such as bifonazole or ketoconazole cream. If the symptoms are severe, the rabbit may also need oral medication. During treatment, put a (homemade) Elizabethan collar on the rabbit to stop it from scratching the area and worsening the infection.
Is my cat gagging because of hairball paste, with a sound like clearing phlegm?
Description unclear; likely retching. If after hairball paste, it may be expelling a hairball. The paste lubricates the gut to pass hair via stool; much hair may cause vomiting. Watch for hairballs passedโusually fine. Retching may also be gastric ulcer, acid disorder, gut flora imbalanceโtry probiotics. If no severe signs, don't worry.
This spot was ringworm, and while using Pittifen spray it near-healed then turned into red dots like in the photo
From the photo, the red dots look like allergic inflammation. Pittifen's active ingredient inhibits fungus, bacteria, and mites, but long use strongly irritates skin and can cause allergy or follicle damage. Stop the spray, disinfect with iodine, and watch; if no improvement, revisit the vet.
My kitten ate one cold-relief capsule containing acetaminophen (24 mg); it seems fine now; how soon would poisoning appear?
Acetaminophen is highly toxic to cats and damages the liver. If ingested, take the cat to a vet for induced vomiting or gastric lavage. If the liver is already affected, IV fluids and liver support are needed. Even if no signs yet, keep monitoring.
