How to Remove Ticks from Your Cat
Ticks cause anaemia, fever, breathing trouble, and jaundice in cats, and inject toxins that trigger nerve signs — and they can carry diseases such as cytauxzoonosis. Remove them only after killing them with a fipronil/methoprene spot-on (dosed by weight) or a mite-killing medicated bath, since pulling a live tick leaves its mouthparts embedded; disinfect the bite afterward and recheck the blood later.
