Not eating, low energy, and a wet mouth may be caused by hot weather, oral inflammation, or gastrointestinal inflammation. If the cat isn’t regularly vaccinated, an infectious disease can’t be ruled out. In heat, cats may show reduced appetite, rapid breathing, and more oral-nasal discharge; oral diseases like stomatitis or gingivitis cause drooling.

Calicivirus infection can also irritate the mouth and reduce appetite. Take the cat to a veterinary hospital promptly for examination and treatment based on the findings.
