A dog not urinating for more than 24 hours may have urinary blockage. If its bladder is fairly full, take it to a veterinary clinic for microscopic examination and urine tests to determine whether the blockage is caused by a urinary tract infection or stones, then perform catheterization and other targeted treatments.

If the dog’s bladder is not full, it may also be due to reasons such as insufficient water intake, hormonal imbalance, and nervous tension caused by being in heat, which affect normal urination. The owner needs to comfort the dog’s emotions and try to encourage it to drink more water; if the dog still does not urinate, it is still recommended to see a vet.
