A red bump on the dog may be a tick bite. Ticks are parasites that live on the skin and suck blood. If suspected, check the bump: a tick bite often has a central dark dot, the mouthparts, with redness, itching, local bleeding, even blood-parasite disease and anemia.

If you find a tick, do external deworming and seek a vet to remove it with proper tools. But red bumps can also be mosquito bites, fungal infection, allergic dermatitis, or mites, so get a skin scraping at the vet.
