My dog has a lot of these scabs on its body — what medicine should I apply?

A large amount of white crusting on a dog’s skin is very likely a fungal skin infection. It is recommended to first shave the fur within 3–4 cm around the affected area, then put an Elizabethan collar on the dog to prevent it from licking the area. Next, wet sterile gauze with saline and apply it as a wet compress to the affected area; after softening the crusts, gently wipe them off, then apply lysozyme ointment and terbinafine hydrochloride spray for treatment, for at least one consecutive week.

During the medication period, also pay attention to keeping the environment clean, and regularly disinfect the dog’s bed and the places the dog is frequently active, to reduce bacterial and fungal infections.
