My Cat Vomited a Little White Foam Early This Morning

There are many causes of white-foam vomiting in cats, and the right treatment plan should match the cause. Because we do not know the cat’s living situation or detailed history, when you notice white foam we recommend first withholding food and water, and checking whether the cat accidentally ate irritating food or medication, and whether the vomit contains anything besides foam. Also check whether the foaming is accompanied by other poisoning symptoms.

In short, observe the cat’s symptoms closely. If you cannot judge and the cat’s energy and appetite are still good, with only one or two vomiting episodes, withhold food and water for a day; after the vomiting eases, feed a small amount of liquid food and give a probiotic to support the gut, along with an antibiotic to reduce inflammation. For severe vomiting, give an anti-vomiting medication such as cimetidine. If the cat still vomits frequently after medication and shows worsening energy, diarrhea, fever, or refusal to eat or drink, consider panleukopenia, parasites, pancreatitis, liver or kidney inflammation, or poisoning, and take it to the hospital for systematic treatment.
