My cat has had a continuous fever for three days, with two shots and one dose of fever medicine, but it isn’t better. No diarrhea or vomiting, eating normally. It seemed better this morning but was feverish again this afternoon. What should I do, is it a fever or something else?

A cat with a recurring fever generally has inflammation somewhere in the body. With no vomiting or diarrhea, the cause could be a blood parasite infection, feline AIDS (FIV), or dry-form feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).

I recommend taking your cat to a veterinary hospital for a full examination, including a complete blood count, biochemistry panel, virus screening, and chest and abdominal imaging, so the exact cause can be identified and treated specifically.

Also, an immune deficiency disease in cats can lead to recurring fevers, so this should be given close attention as well.
