Is the Japanese Akita a Good Dog?

The Japanese Akita has many good points: deep loyalty and obedience, willingness to fetch things and wait for its owner, strong guarding instinct, a calm temper with other pets and family, and fairly high trainability.

But the Akita has sensitive digestion and skin, a somewhat stubborn nature, and strong curiosity, so it needs consistent training, careful diet, and a clean environment.
