Is a Shiba Inu a native Japanese dog?

The Shiba Inu is a native Japanese breed, and can be considered Japan’s local dog. Shiba Inus are relatively small, lively, and energetic, with a high need for exercise, and they generally enjoy going out to play.

Second, they are quite understanding of people, usually gentle and friendly, and like to quietly observe humans from a corner, making them very easy-to-keep dogs. However, Shiba Inus are generally stubborn; if they do not want to do something, they will not obey even if their owner commands it.

Also, a Shiba Inu under one year old is generally harder to manage and prone to mischief, but after one year they become very well-behaved. Owners should therefore start training and setting rules early.
