Is a Labrador a Large or Medium-Sized Dog?

A Labrador is a medium-to-large breed. Large dogs are defined as those over 61 cm tall and weighing more than 35 kg, while medium dogs are 41–60 cm tall and weigh 11–30 kg.

Many adult male Labradors meet the large-dog criteria, but most adult females only reach the medium-dog standard, since their height does not exceed 61 cm. Strictly speaking, therefore, the Labrador is a medium-to-large breed.
