How to Tell When a Red Belly Cichlid Is Mature?

Red belly cichlids usually reach sexual maturity after about half a year of keeping, at which point their body length is around 6-10 cm.

If you plan to breed them, it is best to spread fine sand on the tank bottom and plant some aquatic plants to give them hiding and nesting spots.

During breeding, keep the water temperature stable between 27 and 29°C.

Feed them twice a day, with at least one feeding of live food such as live shrimp and mosquito larvae to give the breeding pair enough energy.
