A pregnant puppy shows few signs early; around 2 weeks it may eat more, sleep a lot, and be nervous or irritable with a sensitive belly. At 3-4 weeks mild vomiting, reduced appetite, and swollen, darker nipples appear.
Between 30-45 days the belly clearly enlarges, urination increases, and the breasts become full and droopy. At this point take the dog for an ultrasound or X-ray to confirm pregnancy and check the puppies.
