How to tell if a cat’s fall is serious?

You can judge severity from the cat’s symptoms. Generally, if a cat that fell from height is only frightened or has a small skin scrape, it is not a serious fall. But if after falling it limps, lies still, has unfocused eyes, or nosebleeds, it likely has a fracture and internal injury.

Take it to a veterinary hospital promptly for an ultrasound or X-ray to confirm the injury, then treat it. During transport, avoid bumps to prevent further damage.
