How to Tell a Cat’s Sex by Its Facial Features

Whisker pad: males are larger, acting as a protective cushion in fights. Muzzle: males are broader. Forehead: males are wider and more geometric; females flatter and more sloped. Nostrils: males wider, females narrower. Eyes: a male’s eyes are actually a bit larger but look smaller against a bigger face; a female’s look larger by comparison.
3 Check the Genitals
If the face is inconclusive, look at the genitals. The male’s genital opening sits about 2 cm from the anus and is round; the female’s is about 1 cm away and shaped like a triangle or teardrop.
