Mother cats lick the kitten’s anus to stimulate defecation, so with the mother present you need not worry. Without her care, gently wipe and press the kitten’s anus and urethra with a damp wipe or cotton swab to stimulate stools.

If a young kitten does not defecate for a long time, constipation may set in; stimulate more often, and if still no stool, take it to a pet hospital.
