How to handle a dog bitten by a tick?

After confirming ticks on the dog, promptly use a pet external parasite control product to remove them. If you see brown-red, black, or brown bugs on the dog’s body, it is very likely a tick infestation. If only a few ticks are present, apply alcohol to the area; once the tick is numbed, pull it out with fine-tipped tweezers, or spray flea spray on the infected spot and the tick will be cleared the next day.

After handling the ticks, apply an external parasite medicine to the dog. If many ticks are parasitizing the dog, it is best to take it to the veterinary hospital. During handling, never forcefully pull the tick off by hand, to avoid skin infection in the dog.
