How to give a dog a haircut?

Before cutting, bathe and dry the dog and comb the coat straight for easy trimming. If inexperienced, start with the paw pads and legs: shave the pads carefully with clippers held parallel to skin, or use small scissors. Use large scissors for the legs after deciding the length, trimming gradually. Once comfortable, pick a style and trim to it; if the dog gets restless, offer a snack to calm it.
