I. How to keep a Teddy

1. Before bringing it home, clean the house — under the sofa, bed, behind curtains, the balcony — disinfect and ventilate, so the dog doesn’t catch illness from low immunity after arrival.

2. Prepare essentials: food, bowls, leash, toys, crate, bed, pet toilet, nail clippers, grooming clippers.

3. After arrival, let it explore, then rest and adapt without disturbance to avoid stress. Provide ample water and food in a warm, quiet, comfy spot to help it settle.

II. Precautions

Regular baths: dense coat needs regular washing with pet shampoo, gentle massage and combing, then fully dried with towel and dryer.

Regular grooming: fast coat growth needs trimming to avoid mats and grease; use a groomer or a clipper at home.

Balanced diet: nutrition with proper protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, and minerals — quality kibble or homemade healthy food.

Regular exercise: lively and active, needs routine exercise — walks, play, or indoor activity.

Regular deworming: prone to internal and external parasites (fleas, mites, roundworms, tapeworms). External monthly, internal monthly before adulthood and every 2–3 months after.

Vaccines: from 2 months, vaccinate against distemper and parvovirus — first series of three shots, 21–28 days apart, then an annual booster. Also yearly rabies vaccine for safety.

Regular checkups: if possible, periodic vet exams to catch and treat disease early.

Finally, give plenty of love and company to build the bond. Teddies are emotional; long neglect can make them depressed and sensitive.
