A cat can have an ultrasound at 45 days of pregnancy. Because the pregnancy is 58–65 days and embryos only begin differentiating at day 42, with limbs and bones forming then, a scan at that point shows development accurately.

After pregnancy don’t over-nourish, or oversized fetuses may cause difficult labor. Just feed normally with some calcium, or use a pregnancy-formula kibble.
