About 28 days after mating, take the cat to a vet for an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy. The embryos are not fully developed then, so it only tells whether the cat is pregnant.

For fetal development, count and due date, do an X-ray after 45 days; the vet will also judge from size and position whether a natural birth is suitable.
