How soon after birth can a chinchilla be bathed?

Expert Answer

Bathe a chinchilla 2-3 weeks after delivery. It has lochia for about a week (normal uterine contraction), wipes the vulva daily.

If discharge continues past a week, the uterus may have a problem; see a vet promptly.
