How should you feed a puppy that has just been weaned?
Expert Answer
A puppy that has just been weaned cannot be fully weaned from milk yet. If there is no breastfeeding, prepare pet-specific goat milk formula and feed it for about half a month, 4-5 times a day. Once the puppy reaches 45 days of age, begin feeding kibble softened with goat milk, 3-4 times a day.
Avoid feeding meat or other foods too early, and do not give puppies adult dog food, so as not to cause digestive upset. In addition, a newly weaned puppy has relatively low immunity, so keep it warm.
Do not bathe the puppy for now, to avoid it catching a chill and developing a cold.
