How often to change a chinchilla’s bath sand?

Change a chinchilla’s bath sand about once a week, adjusting to need; replace it as soon as it gets dirty or the chinchilla just gets dirtier. Normally sand can be reused 2-3 times if you remove debris after each use and sun it for a few hours. Bathe the chinchilla with sand 2-3 times a week; over-bathing damages the coat and can cause skin disease.
