How often should a grass turtle’s water be changed?

Expert Answer

Change a grass turtle’s water every 4 to 5 days. It is not picky about water quality but timid, and frequent changes cause disease from sudden changes, so adjust reasonably. In winter dormancy lower frequency to monthly.

In summer bacteria grow fast, so change twice weekly.
