A dog with parvovirus has severe diarrhea and generally does not need an enema; instead stop feeding and give antidiarrhea and fluid therapy. Infected dogs show diarrhea, anorexia, vomiting, and fever; if seen, take the dog to a veterinary hospital promptly for effective treatment. With severe diarrhea, stop feeding immediately and take it for IV therapy, using interferon, parvovirus monoclonal antibodies, and other symptomatic drugs.
