How often do raccoons mate?

A female raccoon gives birth once a year; during breeding she may mate up to 4 times a day with the same male, depending on his ability. January and February are the peak mating months.

Gestation is 63 to 65 days, with 3 to 7 pups, usually 4. A successful January to February mating yields pups in April to May, weaned by June.
