How many kittens can one cat have?

A cat can have 1 to 8 kittens per litter, averaging 3 to 6 for most. Cats can have 2 litters a year, so at an average of 5 per litter that is about 10 kittens a year. Most cats can breed after age 1 and should not breed past age 6, so in a lifetime a cat can have at least 30 kittens.

But adjust breeding to the cat’s physical condition; try not to let her breed and give birth too often, or it places a serious burden on the mother and cannot guarantee the kittens’ health.
