How long until a dog’s cataracts cause blindness?

A dog goes blind only when cataracts reach the mature stage, but the timing is not fixed and depends on progression. Cataracts do not always cause blindness and can be cured with timely treatment.

But if left untreated, once it reaches maturity and the pupil is covered by a white membrane, blindness results.
