How long to recover from dog heatstroke?

Heatstroke recovery depends on severity. Mild cases improve in about half a day once moved to shade and given water; severe cases may need about a week. At onset move the dog to a cool, airy place, help it shed heat and give water; if no clear relief, pour cool water on it to speed cooling.
