How long does it take for a duck to grow to adulthood?

Ducklings take about 3 months to grow up, and adult ducks generally reach 3 to 5 lb, with some breeds growing to 6 to 8 lb. Commercial meat ducks raised on special feed can be fully grown in just 30 to 40 days, while most free-range rural ducks need about 5 to 6 months. Newly bought ducklings have weak resistance and are sensitive to cold, so keep the temperature around 30 degrees C; once they are a bit older and their immunity improves, move them to a spacious outdoor grass area and let them get some sun to strengthen their constitution.
