How long does it take a yellow-margined box turtle to adjust after arriving home?

A yellow-margined box turtle generally needs 1 to 2 weeks to adapt to a new environment. After bringing it home, place it in shallow water to rest quietly for 2 to 3 days, and avoid loud noises during this period so the turtle is not frightened.

Do not feed it before it has adapted, as that can cause indigestion or pollute the water. Try offering a small amount of food 5 to 7 days after arrival, then gradually increase the amount.
