How Long Can a Turtle with a Water Mold Infection Survive?

A turtle infected with water mold can be cured and will not necessarily die. The treatment for turtle water mold disease is fairly simple: first isolate the sick turtle immediately, then brush off the attached mold and rinse the area with saline solution. Next, apply 5% povidone-iodine solution to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily until fully healed, keeping the turtle dry for 30 minutes after each application; otherwise it can be kept normally and usually recovers within a few days.
