How long can a lost dog survive?

Dogs have strong survival ability and can generally live months or even years as strays; if a lost dog is adopted and given good care, it can reach a normal pet lifespan. After a dog is lost, the owner should spend more time searching, as the chance of finding it is fairly high; do not give up easily. Expand the search to about 5 km and post lost-dog notices near where it went missing to enlist help from others.
