Lined forest lizards generally live 5 to 10 years. Also called lined spiny lizards, their wild populations face heavy illegal collection pressure and are on a protection list. Although many are traded, there are no dedicated breeding bases, so most sold ones are wild-caught. Since they are a protected species in China, private capture and trade are illegal.
