How long can a dog with untreated parvovirus survive?

A dog infected with parvovirus that receives no treatment will very likely die within a week; the exact time depends on immunity, and weaker dogs may die within hours of onset. Some stronger dogs survive the week and recover but often with serious after-effects. Early treatment greatly improves the odds – parvo requires anti-infection care, nutritional support, and electrolyte correction. If you suspect parvo, get the dog to a vet as soon as possible.
