Generally, a puppy can eat 8 hours after having a baby tooth extracted. Anesthesia is usually given before extraction, and the dog must wait until the anesthetic is fully metabolized before eating.
So withhold food and water during this period; never force-feed or force-water while the drug is still active. If a dog eats while under anesthesia, it can easily choke into the trachea and cause serious harm.
