It is hard to say when FIP develops, because it comes from a coronavirus infection, but not every infected cat gets FIP — strong immunity may resist the virus. Weak cats easily develop it after infection.
From first signs to onset is generally 1-3 weeks, and without treatment the cat dies quickly. So keep the cat’s immunity strong and vaccinate regularly to prevent FIP.
