A lovebird generally opens its eyes around 10 days after hatching, with some a few days earlier or later. When born its eyes are closed, its body is bare with only a little fine down, and it is very fragile; this is the hardest stage to raise, so the keeper must care for it carefully. At 12-15 days it begins to lift its head for food and can already walk normally. It generally grows full feathers at about 20 days and can leave the nest at 30 days.
