How long after deworming can a dog be bred?

A dog that has taken internal deworming medicine should be bred only after one month. Internal deworming should not be done in the month before mating, nor during pregnancy or breeding.

If you plan to breed your dog, it is best to deworm her one month before mating to prevent parasite infection during pregnancy that could affect the puppies. If a dog does get infected while pregnant, take her to a pet hospital; the vet may prescribe a safer dewormer, but only under professional guidance.
