Expert Answer

The Boxer is a lively, friendly, and loyal companion breed, fairly suitable for home keeping. It was originally bred to hunt large game like wild boar and deer, later became a cattle dog, and in the 19th century was crossed with the Bulldog to form today’s breed. Loved for its strong body, loyal nature, and high work adaptability, it is often used as a police, guide, and guard dog.

However, Boxers are large and need enough exercise space and time, so they don’t suit small, cramped homes.

👤 Pet Owner Experience

My Boxer is a loyal clown, endlessly friendly and up for anything, but he's strong and needs real exercise or he'll chew the house down. I'd only take one with time and space, a bored Boxer is a wrecking ball. Mine thrives on runs and play, and his gentle side with kids is why I love the breed, just know the energy bill is high, give him a job and he's the best companion, skip him if you can't keep up.
