Small hunting terriers are excellent hunters; unlike large hounds, their edge is keen smell and small size to dart through brush after rabbits, rats, pheasants and badgers, even digging them out.
Intelligent and less lethal, they use hit-and-run to control large prey until the hunter arrives for the kill.
