A Dogo Argentino runs about 30 to 40 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h at top speed, and has good endurance. Although its explosive speed may not beat some prey, it can use stamina to catch up.

Its extremely keen scent, strong hunting drive, long powerful limbs and solid muscle make it an excellent hunter; a well-trained Dogo can control an adult wild boar and even kill a male cougar.
