How does a German Shepherd do in fights?

German Shepherds fight quite well; a strong, fierce one can even match fierce dogs, but against exceptionally tough breeds like the Kangal, Great Dane, Pit Bull or Rottweiler it will lose. Fighting also depends on later training, since the breed is highly malleable.

Systematic training raises fitness and fighting ability, but a timid, untrained dog may lose even to pets like Golden Retrievers, Samoyeds or Akitas.
