How does a Belgian Malinois act toward strangers?

A Belgian Malinois is fairly wary of strangers because of its strong territorial sense; meeting a stranger outside, it usually watches closely but rarely attacks first. If a stranger enters its territory, it typically barks a warning, and poorly trained ones may attack directly. Therefore, family-kept Malinois need early socialization to build obedience and reduce aggression. The Malinois is very loyal to its owner, and with proper training it can become an excellent guard and family companion.
