How do you treat dog heatstroke?

For dog heatstroke, first move it to a cool, airy place and turn on a fan. Place ice on the armpits, neck and belly, or wipe those areas with alcohol to help cooling. If symptoms are severe, rinse with room-temperature water — not cold, because too fast a drop stimulates the heart.

While cooling, check the temperature every 5 minutes; if it doesn’t return to normal, take the dog to a vet promptly.
